Collins Family

My Aunt Susan emailed me and asked me if I would consider taking some family pictures of the other half of the Collins family. Of course I said YES! My aunt and uncle have become a huge part of my life and I love spending time with them. Combine that with some photography and you have a recipe for a great day.

We headed up to Pilot Point early on a Saturday and proceeded to fill a couple of compact flash cards. Susan loves the pictures, and that is the best news a photographer can get!

Rad & Ro

When Leslie called me asking me to come help out with an Indian wedding, I was stoked! I hadn't had the pleasure of capturing that kind of color at a wedding before and I almost forgot my camera I was so excited to head out.

Rad & Ro were AWESOME. The wedding was AWESOME. The colors were AWESOME! I had such a great time and can't wait to shoot the next one!

Very Excited!

I just got the call from my good friends Todd Stricker & Leslie Spurlock - they need help with their wedding today. I'm very excited because its an Indian wedding! I haven't had the opportunity to shoot one yet, so this should be a great experience. Time to get the batteries charged, the lenses cleaned and cameras found ;)

New design!

I'm so excited! I got the new site design up and running earlier than I thought I would! Thanks to the guys at Showit Sites, I can easily change things around and make the site my own. I'm really happy with the way it turned out, let me know what you think!

New Internets

WiMax is in da house! I signed up with TierOne Networks this week for internet and VOIP phone service. They came out today and installed, so far so GREAT!

Good speed, well, great speed, I'm very close to the antenna =) The best part, its a symmetrical line, so my upload speed is the bee's knees, baby. Now when I upload to Collages.net it won't take all week!

If you are in the outer lying areas of DFW, give these guys a chance: www.tocn.com

Tell them I sent ya!

Hot Air

You are damn right I did!

The MacBook Air, functionality meets metrosexuality.  I even bought a purple neoprene case for it.  Yup, that IS how I roll.

The power of Craigslist

There once was a guy with some office furniture he wasn't using to its fullest potential.  This guy decided to brave the deep murky waters of Craigslist and see just what might happen.  A few oddballs later some very normal, cool people show up at his house and buy the office furniture.  Conversation ensues, wedding coming, photographer needed, deal struck, plans made.

That is how I got to know Ann and Jason.  Two of the coolest people I've ever met.  They have a great story, met at freshman orientation in college and have chased each other around ever since.  I was blessed in getting to shoot their wedding and having my two good friends Leslie Spurlock and Todd Stricker join me for the shoot.  The wedding was an intimate affair and we had a blast running about with our cameras.

Check out the slideshow: Ann & Jason

Amazing how things work out sometimes!

Flickr

I decided to jump on the Flickr bandwagon. I know, I know, such a visionary, adopting a new technology this early in the process, but hey, that' how I roll, bleeding edge baby!

I got the opportunity to go to Sierra Leone, West Africa earlier this year on a missional adventure for Church and it was life changing! I've uploaded a bunch of the images I took to Flickr, go take a look!

Ugh, tire-ed.

Man, the alarm went of early today!  I'm in Austin for some training for my day job (IBM Solutions Architect) and I hit the treadmill a few minutes after 6a.  After my early shoot yesterday with a 4:30a wake-up, getting out of bed today was tough!

The good news is, I got out of bed!  Sometimes its hard, today was no exception, but you just gotta do it if you want to get in shape.  I've let myself get overweight and I have to do something about it.  I want to be around for both my daughters everything: wedding, prom, when they move out at 30, that kind of stuff.  So, I did it, another day in the bag.  I'll go for a walk outside tonight, because I hate the treadmill, so boring.  Cardio 2 times a day does a skinny dad make!

Ann & Jason

I was an early morning, with a 6:30 start, but the light was soooooo pretty!

Ann & Jason are getting married on the 23rd and we wanted to get an image to use for the wedding and reception entrance, so we got together a couple of times to see what we could come up with.

Talk about a fun couple!  They are happy, easy going and easy on the eyes, so photographing them is a joy.

Here are some images from our shoots: http://www.findthemoment.com/#/cl1-home-2/

More Karen!

We spent an AWESOME day with Karen yesterday.  She was so amazing, literally willing to do any wacky idea we could come up with.

"Hey Karen, hop on the Harley with my Uncle Rick!" "OK!!"

"Hey Karen, lie down in the groady lake!" "OK!!"

The pictures turned out amazing, thanks in no small part to Karen's willingness and the fact that she is stunning!

Thanks Karen!

Karen

What a great day of shooting so far!  Karen came down from the land of the Eagles and even though the Cowboys are far supreme, she's still pretty dang cool.  Beyond that, she is GORGEOUS!  My good friend Leslie Spurlock shot her wedding back in May and they became fast friends.  As a result, Karen agreed to come down for a trash the dress session!

We spent some time at the grain mill in Prosper this morning then headed down to Strokers.  Bikers are great!  We took some shots around the place and then stuck her on a motorcycle with my uncle Rick.  It was hilarious!!!  I think we made my uncle Rick's month!

As soon as we get back into some good light, we are going to head out again and really trash things up, there is a lake in our future and maybe even my swimming pool.  Stay tuned.

Some texture fun

I've recently begun playing with texturizing my photographs.  FUN.

Jesh De Rox is an amazing photographer who really pioneered texturizing in my opinion.  I picked up his Fine Art Textures and have been really enjoying them!

Now, I understand that textures aren't for everyone, but hey, I'm diggin'em right now.

Free to Succeed!

Wow!  What a great night of learning, fellowship and fun!

I got the chance to go to the Free to Succeed seminar with David Jay and Jasmine Star last night, they flat rock!  Such a dynamic pair that really knows what they are talking about.  We learned about everything from workflow to building the business to the importance of branding.  3 things I clearly need to improve upon, so it was a fortuitous event.

It turned into a late night, but I was so amped I setup this new blog and began the redesign of my website ( Find the Moment ) using Showit Sites.  Amazing program that really makes it easy to OWN your web presence.  I'm hooked and having a great time with the rebuild.  Its nice to get my hands dirty from time to time and make something that I can enjoy.  Few kinks to work out and I still need to finalize my overall design, but its coming along!!!
